Hello Friends! My name is Amanda and I am so excited to be apart of the World Race launching in January of 2022. A little bit about my journey…
I am born and raised in Texas, originally from the Cypress area and grew up an athlete with activities such as volleyball and swimming. I got the opportunity to play college volleyball at Texas A&M in which I graduated high school a semester early and began in the Spring of 2016. After almost three seasons of an incredible time in my life, I unfortunately went through a major back injury and had to medically retire from volleyball in my junior year. Upon the sadness of saying goodbye to one important season of my life, the Lord put the opportunity in my life to work at a summer camp called T Bar M Camps for two summers and study abroad in Italy the Spring of my junior year in which I was able to grow in the Lord and see the faithfulness of his hand in my life.
My journey with the Lord began in my freshman year of college on a trip to Haiti that was put on by the athletics department at Texas A&M. During my first trip to Haiti, I experienced the Lord like never before and have been transformed by his mercy and faithfulness ever since. I was saved and baptized within that trip and have been a follower of Jesus, hoping to show the love of Christ throughout my life.
Following college graduation, I briefly worked with an organization called Compassion International working to bring hope through child sponsorships in over 25 impoverished countries around the world. Due to COVID, my program came to an end and I promptly moved to Austin, TX where I am currently working within the renewable energy industry. I came upon the World Race scarcely throughout the past few years and it wasn’t recently until the Lord pushed me into officially applying for the World Race through what I can only describe as a divine conversation between friends, and I am so excited to be taking part in this incredible opportunity to serve around the world in Jesus’s name!
A few things I enjoy in life: spending time with my friends, pugs (and all dogs for that matter), rock climbing, finding new music, and the Royal family!
I would to talk more about my journey and exactly how the Lord has so purposefully lead me to this decision in my life. It is my greatest honor to serve others in Jesus’s name and tell others of the mercy that is found in his great name. To support my trip, I ask you to pray for me as I embark on this opportunity & to consider financially supporting through my blog home page. For more information about specifically what I will be involved in, let’s set up a meeting so that I am able to tell you the work being done in East Asia and South America!
