For my last few days here in the Dominican Republic, I can’t quite find the words of gratitude, admiration , love, and purpose I have felt since being here. So, for that reason, I am simply going to write out my journal entry from a few days ago that hopefully expresses in a small way my heart for this month and for God.
“But I trust in your unfailing love;my heart rejoices in your salvation.
I will sing the Lord’s praise,
for he has been good to me”
Lord, you are incredible. An unfathomable amount of kindness to be standing where I am today. Thank You. Thank you for bringing me back to my roots. For always reminding me that while you have built me with passions, your love and You are the thing that changes circumstances, not my efforts. I live completely surrendered to your will. Just tell me where to go. What a beautiful time of rememberance- here with this ministry reminding me that you are constantly pursuing your children in relationship. That you are so kind and give good gifts. Above all the noise within this environment called earth, your voice is the one I know and follow whole-heartedly. Thank you for your patience when I miss it, or when my weakness and sinful nature try to creep back into my life. Thank you for the position you have given me, I praise you with all my being. You are my King.
“Bring to an end the violence of the wicked
and make the righteous secure-
You, the righteous God
who probes minds and hearts.”
Lord, without you- we are powerless. Lord, with you, we have the wisdom and strength to endure this world. Build in me until the end a heart and a mind set upon you. I trust you. Vengeance and judgment are not mine. Help me to detest the wickedness that goes against you, but pray for the soul who committs the wickedness. Help me see the real force at play within the world and help my compassion.
MY SOVEREIGN GOD IS MOST HIGH!
Reflecting back on this month, I am thankful to be where my feet are. Getting back to the simplicity of sharing the gospel and learning about God’s faithfulness in others’ lives. This month has grounded me; giving me the perfect combination of home and calling that I so desperately needed.
Pray for the ministry of Mission of Hope, that their efforts in supporting the communities within Dominican Republic would be strengthened by the Lord’s favor and that He would make a way to conquer the deeper rooted issues within this beautiful country.
I would love to hear of what the Lord is teaching each of you within your life right now and encourage you to notice the ways the Lord has been specifically kind in your own life. Praise God for his unending love.
I love you Amanda!! Reading your beautiful words grounds me and turns my thoughts away from all of the distractions —— to the simplicity of God’s word! Thank you for that—- it’s truly a gift!
